SFWMD Weekly Environmental Conditions Reports Lake Okeechobee: SFWMD reported on November 6th, 2024, “Lake Okeechobee stage was 14.84 feet NAVD88 (16.15 ft NGVD29) on November 10, 2024, which was 0.05 feet higher than the previous week and 0.33 feet higher than a month ago. Average daily inflows (excluding rainfall) decreased slightly from 3,940 cfs the previous week, to 3,600 cfs. Average daily outflows (excluding evapotranspiration) decreased from 2,270 cfs the previous week to 1,150 cfs. The most recent non-obscured satellite image from November 11, 2024, suggests minimal bloom activity on Lake Okeechobee.” St. Lucie Estuary: SFWMD reported that “Total inflow to the St. Lucie Estuary averaged 1,454 cfs over the past week with most of the flow coming from the Tidal Basin. Mean salinities remained similar at the A1A site and decreased at HR1 and US1 bridge. Salinity in the middle estuary was in the lower stressed range (5-10) for adult eastern oysters.” |
